Ryan and Tia's Wedding Page

How we fell in loveRyan came to work at Verio in the summer of 1998 as an intern. He hoped to gain experience that would look good on his resume once he graduated from Western Washington University with his Computer Science Degree. He hadn't counted on falling in love, but he's glad he did! Ryan and Tia went to lunch together a couple of times and really enjoyed talking with each other. Ryan was a good listener (a rare find in a man), intelligent and VERY funny. Ryan invited Tia to go to the OMSI science show and Tia accepted, but when the weekend came around Ryan decided to go on Saturday instead of Sunday so they never got together. The next week, after finding out that Ryan had never been to Saturday Market in Portland, she invited him to hang out and walk around downtown all day Saturday. They had a wonderful time! Walked and talked a lot and ate and shopped a little. They found they had a ton of stuff to talk about and had a lot of fun together. Then, Ryan asked her on their first date. July 27, 1998 was the day. At work earlier that week, Ryan casually asked Tia if she would like to go out to dinner and a movie or something. Tia casually accepted, saying she would love to go out with him...as long as it was just a "friendly" date. So it was set. Ryan picked Tia up that Saturday night for dinner and a movie. They ate dinner at Chevy's Tex Mex which was very yummy and then went to the theatre and saw "Armageddon" which had just come out. Ryan had been a perfect gentleman all night long so when he asked Tia if she would like to go for a walk in the park she felt very comfortable doing so. They walked through East Moreland park from one end to the other and then back again. They stopped at a picnic table and looked at the stars. Ryan knew a lot about stars and named off all sorts of constellations. Tia once again thought "what a sweet, intelligent man". By that time it was very late so Ryan took Tia home and walked her to the door. She gave him a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. And Ryan said he'd call her. Not once during the whole night did Ryan try to make a move on her. Very impressive! It was a wonderful date and the start of a wonderful relationship. OUR RELATIONSHIP TODAY To this day Ryan still opens the door for me, even when we're running to the car in the pouring rain. He still gets out of the car and walks me to my front door and he still listens! We fall in love more and more every day and we plan on keeping it that way. Here is a poem by an unknown author that we hope to always live by: "A Bridge Instead of A Wall" They say a wife and husband, bit by bit So let us build with master art, my dear
